Packaging is deemed recyclable if it is covered by a regional collection system, if it is compatible with state-of-the-art sorting and separation systems, and if it can be recovered in a recycling process. The recycled materials thus obtained need to be of appropriate quality and have market potential.

Circular Analytics has cooperated with FH Campus Wien and Packforce Austria to develop the Circular Packaging Design Guideline and updates the information regularly.

The Circular Packaging Design Guideline will provide the basis for consultancy projects aimed at the optimisation of existing packaging portfolios.

This optimisation will be achieved through the use of existing product alternatives, and wherever such alternatives are not available, through R&D projects or industry projects.

In addition, consultancy projects will be implemented in the area of product development to find completely new solutions (e.g. compostable packaging).
